In 2022, my company had the privilege of traveling to Chicago to perform the premiere of 'nonlinear' for RE | Dance Group's annual performance at Links Hall.
'nonlinear' explores growth in the context of the individual within their community. I liked interpreting the text from J. Hope Stein's poem, An Infant Reaches, literally while developing gestures only those close to me would notice.
Most of all, I loved introducing this material as a template to the cast. The artists interpreted the text and movement beautifully, and I'm so grateful for their contributions to the project.
